Abstract

Introduction: Although manual thrombus aspiration is losing popularity, the bailout use of thrombus aspiration, not only considering the thrombus load, also based on the localization, and its relationship to the carina and side branches might have a significant periprocedural aspects. We recommended a new thrombus classification in addition to current TIMI thrombus grading. This classification is based on the involvement of side branch ostium and the carina with the thrombus, and the possible thrombus shift from the main vessel to the side branch or vice versa.
