Abstract

Percutaneous closure of atrial septal defect (ASD) has emerged as an alternative to surgery and several devices have been developed. Cardia Ultrasept ASD occluder is made of two nitinol disc frames covered with Polyvinyl Alcohol Membrane(PVA). Several cases of dissolution of the PVA membrane have been reported in the literature. We aimed to discuss the long term results of 9 cases treated with Cardia Ultrasept ASD occluder.
