Abstract
Results: 177 extracardiac findings have been found at 80 (42.1%) cases. It was found that there were minor findings at 40 (20%) of the cases and there were major findings at 40 (20%) of the cases. We found that at 13 (6.8%) cases there were a total of 13 highly significant findings containing aortic aneurysm, pulmonary mass, pulmonary nodules, infiltrates, pneumonectomy, adrenal nodular thickening and liver mass lesions. Conclusion: Because extracardiac structures such as lungs, mediastinum and upper abdomen are being appropriate for evaluating with coronary calcium scoring with multidetector computed tomography and extracardiac findings are frequent, the radiologist who has been reporting these findings should be aware of the likelihood, frequency and importance of these findings.
