Abstract

A 37 year old woman underwent embolisation of a ruptured lumbar artery pseudo-aneurysm with coils and an Onyx® 18 liquid embolic system (Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN, USA). She complained of claudication in her right leg immediately after the procedure. (A) Computed tomography angiography revealed two hyperdense masses in the right common femoral artery, a small proximal piece embedded in a small collateral, and a larger fragment at the femoral bifurcation, responsible for near occlusion. (B) Exploration of the vessel revealed two embolised pieces of Onyx®. The fragments were removed and patch plasty of the common femoral artery was performed. The patient recovered unlimited walking distance.Image 1
