Abstract

Hand-foot-and-mouth disease is one of the main viral infections in childhood, and although it is known to present a benign and self-limited course, it can also present a spectrum of long and short term complications among which dermatological manifestations and nail manifestations such as onychomadesis stand out, which although it is related to other etiologies is considered a secondary complication to viral diseases when preceded by symptoms suggestive of the same.
