Abstract

Despite many serious research efforts, personalization in social web is still a challenge. Existing techniques for social networking rely on state of the art Database and Web 2.0 techniques, that don't allow data representation seminally. In this paper we have proposed a method for improving presentation in social web by ontology based knowledge representation that enables semantic profiling in social networking sites. Our ontology bootstraps on mixture of existing semantic web vocabularies involving FOAF, DC and SIOC. Furthermore we have also explained an ontology based architrave for a semantic social networking site. Initially we have selected Academia and Researchers domain for melding ontology.
