Abstract

Importance of ontology especially its application in the World Wilde Web leads to Semantic Web that, is being recognized in various research and application. A survey of recent research on ontology in computer science is presented.It includes the origination and development,its definition,effect,classification rules,construction and methodology.In the section of Semantic Web,three aspects are dissertated.These three aspects include the relation between ontology and Semantic Web,web-oriented ontology description language,the domestic research and application of Semantic Web.Finally,its further research and application are pointed out.
