Abstract

A 66-year-old man was referred to our hospital with refractory epigastric pain despite proton pump inhibitor (PPI) therapy. He had no other abdominal symptoms and no bloody stools or diarrhea. On EGD, there was small erosion with a white plaque seen on the angularis (A). A biopsy was not performed because its appearance was not worrisome, and we concluded it was induced by loxoprofen sodium (60 mg), a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug prescribed by his local physician for low back pain; we added misoprostol (400 μg/day) to the patient's PPI regimen.
