Abstract

A good epigraphic collection in Calama from the first half of the 1st century A.D. to the beginning of the 5th century, testifies to a long history corroborated by an important urban heritage. The study of this epigraphic fund, composed mainly by pagan Latin epitaphs, allowed us to understand the different types of Calamense denominations, to understand their marital strategies and to establish the origins of cognomina and unique names
