Abstract
Mast cells have been implicated in protective immunity to helminth infection, but the precise mechanism remains unclear. In this issue of Immunity, Shimokawa etal., 2017 report that mast cells are a bridge linking dying epithelial cells with effector type 2 innate lymphoid cells.
