Abstract

The NHS is missing out on the potential of a large chunk of its general practitioner workforce because of its failure to fully integrate sessional (locum and salaried) doctors, a report from the Royal College of General Practitioners has found.[1] Only one in 10 (9%) sessional GPs have a role in a clinical commissioning group (CCG), although most (92%) understand what is meant by commissioning.
