Abstract

This paper presents an effective method to improve the dynamic performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) servo system which can be implemented via on-line PI self-turning. The algorithm is deduced from the relationship between PI adaptive parameters and the inertia of the PMSM servo system. The proposed method is simple and easy to implement for realtime application. Simulation results show its validity and improvements in transient as well as steady-state response better than conventional fixed-gain PI in PMSM servo system.
