The empirical study, conducted from 2021 to 2023, was attended by students of the specialty "Special defectological education" (profile "Speech Therapy") Tyumen State University (Russia), in the number of 285 people. Methods: analysis of theoretical sources in the field of pedagogy and organization of exhibition activities; design; pedagogical experiment, observation, statistical processing of the results of a survey conducted using Google Forms. Results. We have developed a system of methodological principles for modeling an online exhibition. Over three years, students have created 232 projects. Speech therapists are focused on obtaining professional knowledge: 62% of exhibitions are devoted to speech therapy; 11% – sign language teaching; 8% – typhlopedagogy; 6% – oligophrenopedagogy; 4% – autism spectrum disorder; 4% – neuropsychology; 2% – genetic disorders, other topics – 3%. Microsoft Word (70%), PowerPoint (20%) and other digital tools (10%) were chosen for design; 50% chose the model "proposed by the teacher", 40% compiled ideas, 10% independently developed the concept. Students plan to apply their experience in further education (almost 80%), work with children (63%), consultations with parents (50%) and to improve personal competencies (60%). Practical significance. The presented form of implementation of distance practice forms the universal and professional competencies of students. The presented results are of methodological importance, since they open up prospects for the application of project work in the disciplines of both humanities and natural sciences.
