Abstract

The study aims to analyze the possibilities and limitations of on-line and off-line education resources for continuing professional education. The analysis of online education resources was carried out in terms of learners' age, qualifications and needs. The definition of the concept of online continuing professional education was given and its characteristics were singled out. Types of on-line and off-line education resources were systematized according to the components of educational process: to provide education content (virtual educational platforms, video creation kits) and different types of education and pedagogic interaction (cloud-based video conferencing services, collaborative tools); to stimulate and control the learning activities (online quiz makers). The experience of online continuing professional education was analyzed. The challenges for learners of different categories were identified. Recommendations were developed to optimize the use of online education resources for continuing professional education.
