Abstract

This paper describes the development of ceramic electrochemical sensors for on-line detection of hydrogen and oxygen activities in coal gasification systems. Several steps in the development are described, starting from basic material research up to actual test runs in pilot gasifiers. Finally, the cross-sensitivity to water vapour is discussed.
