Abstract

Nail disorders are a common reason for dermatologic consultation. Nails may show different findings that can arise from nail unit diseases, dermatoses or systemic diseases. Several techniques are used for nail diagnosis, such as dermoscopy, ultrasound or other imaging techniques, microbiological tests, and histological analysis. This article review the features, diagnosis and treatment of different nail disorders, including nail semiology, inflammatory dermatoses, infections, systemic diseases and nail tumors.
