Abstract

In this presentation we explore acoustic propagation along a sub-diffraction particle-chain waveguide under trans-verse mean medium flow. In the presence of longitudinal flow, that is, parallel to the waveguide, nonreciprocity is expected. In contrast, under the influence of medium flow that is transverse to the propagation axis, even nonreciprocity in phase accumulation is surprising, let alone one-way guiding. Here, we theoretically show one-way guiding in such a setup, under certain structural conditions. Our results may open another venue for the design of nonreciprocal acoustic wave devices for various applications, and may imply also on analogous systems in electromagnetics.
