Abstract
AbstractAn efficient method was developed to prepare a novel series of chromeno[3,2‐c]pyridine‐1,9(2H)‐diones from bio‐based 4‐hydroxy‐6‐methylpyridine‐2‐ones, aromatic aldehydes and dimedone in the presence of SnCl2⋅2H2O in ethanol at 70°C. Mild conditions as well as the operational simplicity, easy workup, and environmentally friendly are the most advantages of this multicomponent synthesis of potentially bioactive new products.
