Abstract

The synthesis of Janus particles has been thriving in recent years, especially effective preparation strategies and amazing properties are the key focus of current academic and practical perspectives. In this work, the mushroom-shaped polymeric Janus particles (MsPJPs) with controllable morphologies and emulsifiabilities were first prepared by facile one-pot soap-free emulsion copolymerization (SfEP) based on swelling process and regulating ratio of common hydrophilic/hydrophobic monomers. Meanwhile, the nano-Ag particles were loaded onto MsPJPs with regioselectivity, which create new opportunities in a wide variety of applications, such as antibacterial medicine and medical instruments, functional coating, and catalytic materials.
