Abstract
Abstract Monodisperse hollow cerium oxide (CeO2) microspheres were successfully synthesized by a convenient one-pot preparative method. It was found that the morphology of the hollow CeO2 microspheres was sensing to reaction conditions. A possible mechanism for the formation of hollow CeO2 microspheres was discussed. Moreover, we investigated the electrochemical properties of the resultant hollow CeO2 microspheres by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). It was found that the electrochemical sensors based on hollow CeO2 microspheres exhibited high electrochemical response.
