Abstract

In this work, we have developed a one-pot preparative route to fabricate Au-TiO2 nanocomposites. The formation mechanism of one-pot hydrothermal method is addressed. Interestingly, bifunctional surfactants play a vital role for such unique hybrids. Lysie induces the formation of Au nanoparticles and TiO2 nanorods in one-step due to its bifunctional bonds. The effects of detailed preparative parameters (e.g., processing time and ratio of Au/Ti precursors) on hybrids’ morphology are also examined to clarify their functions. In principles, such comparative study of this unique route could clarify the formation mechanisms with solid findings and be useful for other hybrids.
