Abstract

We consider a d-dimensional anisotropic conductor on an arbitrary lattice with arbitrary electron dispersion within the one-electron one-band approach with the account of relaxation. Its nonperturbative nonstationary response to an external electric field of arbitrary magnitude and arbitrary time dependence is studied. Special attention is paid to classification of electron localization regimes, induced by time-periodic electric fields, and to destruction of field-induced localization by relaxation.
