Abstract

N-doped carbon dots/hydroxyapatite:Eu,Gd (N-CDs/HA:Eu,Gd) composite was synthesized via a facile one-step hydrothermal route. The obtained composite exhibited porous structure which played key roles in inhibiting the aggregation of N-CDs and enhancing the light absorption. Interestingly, the photoluminescence performance of N-CDs and HA:Eu,Gd was maintained after the one-step in-situ synthesis. Thus, N-CDs/HA:Eu,Gd exhibited dual-emissive and solid state photoluminescence under single wavelength excitation. The unique optical features could endow N-CDs/HA:Eu,Gd potential applications in ion detection and other fields.
