Abstract

In this work, the urchin-like WO3 has been successfully synthesized via one-step hydrothermal method. The crystal structure, chemical composition, morphology, specific surface area and gas sensing property of WO3 are tested by various instruments. The WO3 gas sensor exhibits high gas response, unique selectivity and good repeatability and stability to 30 ppm ammonia, confirming that the urchin-like WO3 would be a candidate material to monitor ammonia.
