Abstract

In this paper, one-step hydrothermal synthesis of CdS/ MoS2 nanocomposite is proposed as a suitable option, with high photocatalytic property, for application in solar cells’ structure. Also, UV–vis spectroscopy was performed for the synthesized nanoparticles and nancomposites, which showed that the CdS coverage synthesized on the surface of MoS2 creating CdS/ MoS2 nanocomposite, causes the nanocomposite’s absorption to the shift towards the lower wavelengths, leading to the increase in the composite’s band gap comparing to MoS2. Moreover, XRD and EDX analyses confirmed the successful synthesis, while the morphology of the prepared materials were investigated by FESEM and HRTEM.
