Abstract

The effects of aromatic aldehydes on polyurethane fiber amines to form imines directly on the fiber were investigated using 4-dimethylaminocinnamaldehyde as an example. The effects of changing the 4-dimethylaminocinnamaldehyde concentration, dyeing time and temperature, and solution pH on the proposed technology were studied. A theoretical justification for the new dyeing method was given. Technological parameters of the dyeing process were developed. Reflectance spectra were obtained. The concentration, time, and temperature dependences of the K/S values of the samples were found. The stability of the obtained dyes on the polyurethane fibers was tested by wet treatments.
