Abstract

Synthesis of various β-enaminones derivatives using substituted aromatic amines and cyclic 1,3-diketone in the presence of visible light driven catalyst of Niobium pentoxide decorated on 2D-Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) sheet. In this method, a simple procedure is followed utilizing the green chemistry principles and observed high selectivity, less reaction time and good yield without the need of column chromatographic purification. The prepared catalyst and product are characterized by various spectroscopy techniques such as FT-IR, XRD, XPS, SEM-EDX, Elemental Mapping, HR-TEM, SAED pattern, UV–Vis. Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (UVDRS), EIS, Photoluminescence (PL) and 1H NMR spectra. The product is achieved in 90–98 % yield under mild reaction conditions utilizing non-toxic and environmentally benign heterogeneous catalyst. Further the catalyst can be recovered by simple filtration method and the product is without any chromatographic purification for the desired products.
