Abstract

A heterogeneous catalytic system (unfunctional mesoporous material MCM-41), which efficiently promoted one-pot synthesis of spiro[indoline-3,2′-pyrrolidin]-ones, has been developed. Under mild reaction conditions, a series of spiro[indoline-3,2′-pyrrolidin]-ones derivatives were synthesized in good yields (up to 95%) in water/ethanol = 2/1 as solvent. Notably, the unfunctional MCM-41 catalyst could be easily recovered by centrifugation and reused at least 10 times without loss in activity. And the scale up experiments also demonstrated the practicability of the catalystic system. Reusability, operational simplicity and eco-friendly are highlight of this study.
