Abstract

Careful adjustment of the kinetics of hydrogenation of organometallic complexes allows synthesizing core−shell nanoparticles according to an in situ seed-mediated growth mechanism. This principle is illustrated in the case of the FeRh system (see scheme) for the production of amorphous Fe shells on fcc Rh cores, inducing intriguing magnetic properties.
