Abstract

EMI Shielding behaviour of copper indium sulphide (CIS) nanoparticles synthesized by single-step method is presented. 1-Octadecene and oleic acid both play important role in the synthesis, however, presence of oleylamine leads to formation of phase pure CIS as confirmed by XRD. It is observed that incorporation of silver nanoparticles in 1:1 amount with respect to CIS, dramatically enhanced the shielding efficiency from about −3 dB to about −13.5 dB (average) of the CIS/PVA (0.5:1 w/w) composite in X-band. This is possibly the first study of CIS for EMI application.
