Abstract

Herein, a novel, simple, economical and rapid one-pot synergistic sono-microwave assisted synthesis doping and reduction of nitrogen doped graphene (NG) from graphene oxide in presence of 1,3,5-Triazine-2,4,6-triamine (C₃H₆N₆) was reported. The as-synthesized NG material was optimized by varying the ratio of GO to 1,3,5-Triazine-2,4,6-triamine to find the optimized N content in the catalytic graphene material. Few layers of well exfoliated graphene oxide of the optimized functional NG material were revealed by Transmission electronic microscopy (TEM) and field emission scanning electronic microscopy (FE-SEM). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) affirmed that, about 9% nitrogen doping into the graphene lattice was made up of pyrrolic-N, pyridinic-N, and graphitic-N active forms of nitrogen which are necessary for Bone activity, Sensor Sensitivity and Antimicrobial potency against pathogens.
