Abstract
This chemistry takes readily available starting materials and with an efficient (60-90% yield) cascade reaction sequence creates donor-acceptor chromophoric systems. Although the optical properties of these systems are not described, the reaction products are certain to have very high optical absorptions and related processes could be used to create novel emitters and electro-optical materials.
