Abstract

The final results of a clinical trial of 1 ml injections of Rho(D) immune globulin (human) (equivalent to 1,200 μg anti-D) for a period of some months after delivery are reported. Data in relation to the 11 control mothers who became immunized during the study are also reported. One millilitre of potent Rho(D) immune globulin (human) injected into Rh negative mothers at risk within 72 hours of delivery of an ABO compatible, Rh positive baby will prevent development of circulating anti-D antibody in the period of six weeks to six months after the injection when such antibodies usually appear.
