Abstract

A one-droplet synthesis strategy was proposed for facile synthesis of polysaccharide/MOF aerogels. The reaction in one droplet was that the metal ions initiated the cross-linking of polysaccharide molecules and coordinated with organic ligands to form MOFs simultaneously. SEM, XRD, N2 adsorption–desorption, and TGA analysis suggested that the composite aerogel contained uniform MOF crystals immobilized inside the aerogel mesh, presenting a hierarchical porous structure. The composite aerogel has high adsorption capacity toward CO2. This work provides a facile route with a definite mechanism for synthesis of functional polysaccharide/MOF aerogels.
