Abstract

A model of a one-dimensional spin-glass is studied; this is a system of localized spins with indirect exchange interaction via the conduction electrons. It is assumed that the electrons are scattered at defects and their mean free path is less than the average interspin distance. Specific heat and magnetic susceptibility are calculated in various temperature regions. The properties in a strong magnetic field are determined. The case of a long-range interaction is briefly discussed.
