Abstract

One-dimensional dual-polarization beamforming networks on the basis of an array of identical coupled square metal waveguides with phase shifters are considered. An electrodynamic model of the structure, which enables determination of the field distribution at the network output and the radiation pattern is proposed. It is shown that linear coupling coefficients for waves with different polarizations have different signs. The realizability of two systems of identical almost flat-topped patterns for waves with two orthogonal polarizations is demonstrated.
