Abstract

The single-particle momentum distributions for4He and208Pb calculated within the coherent density fluctuation model are briefly discussed and compared with the experimental data available as well as with the results of other correlation approaches. The model is extended for evaluation of the two-nucleon centre of mass and relative motion momentum distributions. The extended model is applied to the4He,16O and40Ca nuclei. Similar to the case of the single-particle momentum distributions the two-nucleon momentum distributions calculated within the model have high-momentum components which should be important for the description of various nuclear reactions.
