Abstract

In recent years oncolytic adenoviruses in combination with chemtherapy used in the treat-ment research of cancer attract more and more attention. The ability of tumor cells to develop chemotherapy drug resistance is a major limitation of standard anticaner drugs.Oncolytic adenovirus can overcome the disadvantage of traditional gene therapy involving a replication-deficient adenovirus that results in lower expression of the therapeutic gene with low transfection rate and no targeting effect, and also can improve the killing effect of tra-ditional chemotherapy. It is reasonable to suggest that oncolytic adenoviruses in combination with chemtherapy may be a powerful and effective protocol for cancer treatment in the clinic. Key words: Neoplasms; Adenoviridae; Genes; Drug therapy
