Abstract

The borderline catalyst used to On Board Diagnostics (OBD) system was prepared by combined sedan road aging test and bench quickly aging experiment by using Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) fuel. Two OBD diagnostics methods of three- way catalyst based on oxygen storage capability, dual oxygen sensor and rare oxygen sensor method, were compared using on engine bench experiment and integral sedan test by single LPG fuel. Results showed that these two diagnostics methods both accurately monitor oxygen storage capacity (OSC) of three-way catalyst and meet the requirements of OBD national standard.
