Abstract

The implementation of workers' control in the initial period of socialist transformations and the emergence of a new social structure in the USSR is one of the brightest pages in the history of the October Revolution. As is well known, workers' control aided in the resolution of several fundamental and interrelated problems with which the Soviet government was faced from the very moment of its creation. It made possible the destruction of the old administrative apparatus which opposed the revolution, created favorable conditions for introducing nationalization of industry, and was a unique school for preparing worker cadres to run the national economy.
