Abstract

The trend to use advanced simulation tools for engine performance and behaviour prediction is continuing and even speeding up. Besides turbocharger matching at engine full load conditions, also transient response and low end efficiency prediction becomes more important. The complete vehicle cycle simulation (NEDC - New European Driving Cycle) helps to assess engine and turbocharger performance at a very early stage of a complex engine and vehicle development project.
