Abstract

This paper presents two applications suitable for introducing and effectively demonstrating the power of simulation in the decision making process. These applications are based on a general model developed initially for queueing problems which readily yields itself to most problems to be studied by simulation. Some two years of classroom experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels are drawn on in the discussion and extensions and enhancements of the model are proposed.
