Abstract

This paper looks at the estimation of a finite population mean when emphasis is laid on the use of information on p auxiliary variables under a two-phase sampling set-up. On adopting two different estimation techniques, attention has been given on the construction of two different classes of estimators viz., a class of chain-type estimators and a class of predictive-type estimators, and their precision has been studied.
