Abstract

It is shown that the assumption of a thermally activated mobility in n-type Hg0.8Cd0.2Te is not supported by the available experimental evidence. In particular, the criticism of the authors' previous paper by Gebhardt and co-workers (1987) is shown to be unfounded. The hypothesis of magnetic freeze-out is well supported by experimental data and by the similarity to the behaviour of InSb.
