Abstract
The advent of very stable and accurate frequency sources and the development of means for improving receiver sensitivity make attractive the use of such devices as an aid to navigation and guidance in many astronautical missions. This paper reviews the application of Doppler principles and techniques to operations in terrestrial space of earth satellites in the areas of orbit determination and use as a navaid.
