Abstract
Particle motion in model neutral or current sheets has been previously studied [Speiser, 1965, subsequently referred to as Part 1] using nonadiabatic calculations. The models represent the current sheet expected [Dungey, 1953] near a neutral point in the magnetic field where field line merging or reconnection can occur with magnetic field energy being given to the particles.
