Abstract

A quantum theory of spin-orientational transitions in a tetragonal two-sublattice antiferromagnet with large single-ion anisotropy is developed. It is shown that the values of observable (physical) parameters that define the crystal properties for H •C 4 and H ⊥C 4, can greatly differ not only from each other but from bare spin-hamiltonian constants.
