Abstract

This paper investigates the dynamic contact problem. In particular, there are considered two methods for determining the reduction coefficient, which is an integral energy characteristic of the impact process. It is shown that the value of this coefficient, obtained in the presence of the influence of Rayleigh surface waves, is closer to its value which is obtained experimentally.
