Abstract

Sciaromium lacustre Herz. & Rich. in Rich. from Peru is misplaced in Sciaromium and a new genus, Richardsiopsis, is erected to accommodate it. Richardsiopsis is considered most closely related to Donrichardsia macroneuron (Grout) Crum & Anderson from Texas on the basis of their similar gametophyte characters including the strong costa, oblong-rhomboidal to linear-flexuose, prorate lamina cells which are partly arranged in pluristratose strands and foliose, suborbicular, broadly rounded at the apex pseudoparaphyllia.
