Abstract
An analysis is given of a well-known representation of reaction amplitudes in elementary particle physics as a difference of the elastic scattering amplitudes in the initial and final channels in high energy nuclear rearrangement reactions. The transition matrix element is interpreted in terms of Feynman diagrams.
